The Map of the Grand Canyons of La Jolla in La Jolla, California, is a breathtaking LithoMosaic installation that’s leaving visitors in awe of its wonder. Installed by Brailsford Public Art, it has been created using thousands of tiny tiles. It’s the newest arrival to La Jolla Shores Park.

The map was a creation of the Walter Munk Foundation for the Oceans. It features more than 100 native species, from sea lions and dolphins to a giant devil ray and a gray whale. Since the completion of the installation, it has become a central meeting point for locals and tourists alike.
About Brailsford Public Art
Robin Brailsford holds an MFA in sculpture and additionally a patent for LithoMosaic, a method of casting mosaics within monolithic concrete pours. Brailsford is also a co-inventor of LithoMosaic, a process for setting mosaics in monolithic concrete pours and production. Together with Lithocrete, Shaw & Sons and T.B. Penick, she is now promoting the innovative LithoMosaic process internationally for public art, landscape architecture and architecture.
