Westcoat Specialty Coating Systems has moved to a new location. Now located at 4007 Lockridge St., San Diego, CA 92102, the business is staying close to its roots. The building was acquired in order to combine the corporate offices and manufacturing that were previously in separate locations.
Owner, Paul Koury says, “This new building has allowed us to bring together the two parts of the company in one location and become a more cohesive team, especially more efficient in order to serve our customers better.”
The building is currently undergoing some major changes to suit Koury’s vison for his new headquarters. Windows and doors were cut in the second floor for the offices upstairs, an old awning was removed to place a balcony deck for employee breaks or working outside and the building was even painted with a Westcoat manufactured acrylic top coat! Koury believes in using his own building for R&D. The showroom was resurfaced in a Terrazzo-like flooring system and the balcony deck will have three different waterproofing systems installed to test side-by-side. Koury says, “When we have this kind of R&D on-site it allows for truly controlled testing as well as day-to-day monitoring. I really enjoy it!.” Of course the rest of the building showcases current Westcoat systems throughout.
To celebrate the move and the building’s new look, Westcoat is hosting its Grand Open House on September 29, 2016. The date was chosen to correspond with the last day of the Concrete Decor Show, a decorative concrete tradeshow. This tradeshow took place in San Diego this year. Attendees of the show are encouraged to come by the Westcoat booth, #104, to get an invitation to the event. The progress of the building is also being documented on Westcoat’s Social Media Channels with #HouseofWestcoat.
