Effective March 1, 2015, Alpha Professional Tools will discontinue the AIR-658 Pneumatic Polisher. This model has been upgraded to the AIR-680 Pneumatic Polisher. As with the AIR-658, the AIR-680 is a high-performance, pneumatic polishing tool with a central water-fed distribution system that produces the highest quality finishes. It has a maximum speed of 4,000 RPM, consumes 15 CFM and requires 85 PSI. With a 5/8-inch-11 spindle, the AIR-680 is lightweight and ergonomically designed.
The Alpha AIR-680 has several new features, including the Flexzilla Air and Water Hoses which are flexible down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit and are now 15 feet long. An easy access Oil Port allows for convenient maintenance while a heavy-duty wrench provides quick accessory changes.
The polisher utilizes a full-size bottle of AIR-008 (8 ounces or 237 milliliters) and includes a new exhaust hose clamping system. The price for the polisher has not changed.
Alpha will continue to service and repair the AIR-658 and sell spare parts to support the units that have already been sold. The majority of the AIR-680 parts are the same as the AIR-658. In addition, although the AIR-658 has been discontinued, existing tools can be retrofitted (with new union fittings) with the new Flexzilla Air and Water hoses.
