The American Concrete Pumping Association (ACPA) and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) announce the co-location of the 2016 ACPA Gaining the Edge Education Conference and NRMCA ConcreteWorks conference.
For the first time, these two important industry events will be held concurrently at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. The biannual ACPA Gaining the Edge Education Conference will take place Sept. 19-20, and the annual NRMCA ConcreteWorks event will take place Sept. 18-20.
With this cooperative spirit in mind, ACPA and NRMCA will share an exhibition hall with booths dedicated to the specific needs of concrete pumping and ready mix contractors. Other collaborative opportunities at the event include a keynote address as well as an ACPA-NRMCA crossover education session entitled “The Perfect Pour,” led by Mike Schneider, Vice President and Chief People Officer at Baker Concrete Construction. The Perfect Pour will focus on how a concrete contractor selects a ready mix concrete supplier, a concrete pumping service and other important teammates.
The ACPA Gaining the Edge Education Conference will focus on the specific needs of operating a concrete pumping business. Attendees will experience education sessions led by some of the top professionals in their fields. Sessions are tailored for the needs of operating a concrete pumping business, and topics include:
- Workforce development
- Fleet management
- Sales strategies and planning
- Navigating federal Hours of Service regulations
- Managing a compliance audit
- Contractual risk
Another feature session covers the results of the 2016 ACPA financial benchmarking survey, which helps concrete pumping contractors measure profitability by comparing costs with other firms to gain better understanding of the efficiency and effectiveness of their business processes.
Roundtable discussions for ACPA Gaining the Edge attendees offer the opportunity for pumpers to share their ideas and strategies for key concerns, such as developing a safety culture, best practices for running a concrete pumping business, and optimizing the results of the 2016 financial benchmarking survey.
NRMCA ConcreteWorks will offer a variety of events for ready mix contractors, including education sessions on topics such as concrete paving, concrete buildings, business administration, technology, environmental and safety issues, and more.
