The Decorative Concrete Council, a specialty council of the American Society of Concrete Contractors, will hold its spring event April 28 through April 30 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Columbia, S.C. The event includes seminars on business topics for owners and managers of decorative concrete contracting firms as well as demonstrations of decorative concrete installations. Seminar topics will include “How to Get Started,” “Keys to Success,” “Show Me the Money,” and a preview of the demonstration techniques. Speakers include World of Concrete presenters Bob Harris of the Decorative Concrete Institute and Frank Lewis of The Coatings Group. Concrete stamping, stenciling, staining, scoring, acid etching, overlay systems and countertops will be demonstrated on Saturday at Specialty Concrete Products, 1327 Lake Dogwood Drive, West Columbia. The ACI flatwork finisher class and examination will be offered at the event. The DCC is made up of decorative concrete contractors, manufacturers, and other interested parties. The mission of the organization is to advance the quality and use of decorative concrete systems for both horizontal and vertical applications.
