CRSI Announces 2022 CRSI HONORS Recognition Program Recipients

The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute is proud to announce the results of their biennial CRSI HONORS design and construction awards program. Ten projects were selected to receive recognition from the numerous entries submitted.

Project entries were evaluated on the basis of Satisfaction of owner objectives, Development of innovative solutions, Maximizing project value, Effective use of reinforced concrete, and Overall aesthetics. Seven submittals received a premier HONORS Award while three received Merit Certificate recognition.

For over 50 years, CRSI has recognized design and construction achievement by owners, architects, engineers, and construction managers across North America. Submittals can be made by anyone in the design/construction team. This cycle’s entries represent a wide range of project types from all regions of the United States. Each of the selections demonstrates an excellence in leveraging reinforcing steel’s inherencies as a part of the world’s most popular building material.

All the recognized projects will be considered for case studies and for other promotions showcasing steel reinforced concrete construction. The Institute is pleased to acknowledge all these unique and successful projects.

About the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute

Founded in 1924, the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) is a technical institute and Standards Developing Organization (SDO) that stands as the authoritative resource for steel reinforced concrete construction. Among the Nation’s oldest trade associations, CRSI offers many industry-trusted technical publications, standards documents, design aids, reference materials and educational opportunities.

CRSI’s members represent over 80% of the U.S. manufacturers, fabricators and placers of steel reinforcing bar and related products with over 600 locations in 49 states, and with over 15,000 employees. Members produce, fabricate and install approximately 9 million ton of reinforcing steel per year using scrap steel in efficient manufacturing operations. It is estimated that the industry impacts over 75,000 people in steel transportation and placement in North America.

The CRSI membership also includes professionals across the country who are involved in the research, design, and construction of steel reinforced concrete. CRSI staff comprises a nationwide region network of industry professionals.
