- Three Euclid Chemical employees presented with prestigious industry awards at the ACI Convention

- These accolades highlight Euclid Chemical’s critical role within the concrete industry
Euclid Chemical had a high-achieving evening at this year’s ACI Spring Convention & Exposition Awards event, with three of its employees securing prominent industry accolades.
The American Concrete Institute (ACI) Convention & Exposition, held in Salt Lake City, UT, brings together the concrete industry’s leaders to discover the latest in the design, construction, maintenance and repair of concrete projects.
The ACI held an awards event at the show’s Opening Session and Reception on Sunday March 25th to recognize those making the greatest contributions to the concrete industry. This year three members of Euclid Chemicals expert team were presented with awards, which included one appointment to the prestigious ACI Fellowship title.
Michael Mahoney, Euclid Chemical’s Director of Marketing and Technology for Fiber Reinforced Concrete, said: “It is a wonderful honor to be made a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute, as it is one of the most significant titles in our industry and I am very appreciative to be recognized for the hard work and my dedication to ACI.
“Working on ACI committees and industry-specific technical organizations that improve the standards and practice of fiber-reinforced concrete has been a significant part of the greater responsibilities of my role for a long time now, and I look forward to continuing this work into the future.”
The ACI’s citation for Michael Mahoney’s Fellowship stated that he has had a “major positive influence on both standards and practice in fiber-reinforced concrete” and that “he has been instrumental in the transfer of new ideas, innovation and technology to the construction industry”.
At the convention Amir Bonakdar, Euclid Chemical’s Western Region Manager for Business Development, was also presented with the ACI Young Member Award for Professional Achievement.
This award recognizes the contributions of younger members of the Institute and according to the ACI, Amir Bonakdar won thanks to his “major positive influence on the design and practice of fiber-reinforced concrete through ACI committee work and industry-specific technical organizations”.
To round out Euclid Chemical’s successes on the day, William J. Lyons III, Euclid Chemical’s National Business Development Manager for the Northeast, was given the Chapter Activities Award.
William J. Lyons III, already an ACI Fellow, achieved this because of his commitment to furthering the goals of the CIB of NYC Chapter through many continued and ongoing activities.
These achievements highlight the critical role that Euclid Chemical’s employees play within the concrete industry and the importance that these industry leaders have on shaping, influencing and informing the sector.
