Simpson Strong-Tie is a leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions. Recently, the company introduced the LTTP2. This is a next-generation light tension tie. Simpson Strong-Tie designed it to resist tension loads when used to attach wood to concrete or masonry walls. The LTTP2’s patent-pending, one-piece design offers 25% higher allowable loads than its predecessors, increasing design flexibility.
Simpson Strong-Tie fabricated this item from a single piece of galvanized steel. Additionally, the LTTP2 features an extruded anchor bolthole to accommodate 1/2″, 5/8″ and 3/4″ bolt diameters. It also has two separate nailing patterns. One is the obround holes. They spaced these 3″ apart for I-joist purlins. The other is square holes spaced to accommodate the narrow face of 2x solid sawn purlins.
You can install the LTTP2 vertically on the wide face of a minimum 2×4 stud for holdown applications. Additionally, you can also fasten it with nails or Strong-Drive SD Connector screws.
