Domestic cement consumption will grow by as much as 5 percent in 2016, according to a report from the Portland Cement Association (PCA).
Speaking at the 2016 World of Concrete, Edward Sullivan, PCA chief economist and group noted that, "the fundamentals of our economy are sound."
"With the recently passed federal highway bill, and continued net increases in new jobs, we see clear indications that positive growth will continue," said Sullivan.
PCA’s industry-renowned Market Intelligence Group, which provides data and insight on fundamental economic issues, will release an updated report on U.S. cement consumption in March, 2016. PCA has been a widely-recognized authority on the technology, economics, and applications of cement and concrete for nearly 100 years. Representing America’s cement manufacturers, PCA is a vocal advocate for sustainability, economic growth, sound infrastructure investment, and overall innovation and excellence in construction.
