The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) has elected Chris Pastorius as its chairman for 2015. Pastorius is vice president and general manager of the Metromont PCI-Certified plant in Richmond, Virginia.
“Besides being an innovator in both architectural and structural precast, Metromont Corporation has been an active and supportive member of the Institute for many years,” said PCI Interim President Roger Becker, P.E. “We are fortunate to have an executive of Chris’s caliber serve in such an important leadership position.”
Pastorius joined Metromont Corporation in 2011. Prior to joining Metromont, Chris spent the past 20 years with Oldcastle Precast, holding several different senior management positions including most recently as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Oldcastle Precast Building Systems. He has been an active contributing member to the PCI Board of Directors since 2008. He has served as a Board Member of PCAP (Prestressed Concrete Association of Pennsylvania), the Zone 5 Director, Zone 6 Director, PCI Secretary-Treasurer, and most recently as PCI Vice-Chairman (Chair-elect). Chris has also served on several committees including the Productivity Committee, Board Nominating, and Budget Planning & Review Team.
“I look forward to serving as PCI’s chairman in 2015,” said Pastorius. “The Institute and its members play a vital role in developing and promoting the body of knowledge for precast concrete. I am honored to have the opportunity to represent PCI members in this leadership role and further promote the Institute’s mission in the coming year.”
In addition to his involvement with PCI, Chris is an active member of several other industry groups including the Mid-Atlantic Precast Association, and the AltusGroup, which he chaired from 2009 to 2010. Pastorius holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business Administration.
In addition to Pastorius’ appointment, two other officer elections were held by the members of the 2015 Board of Directors: Chuck Prussack, Oldcastle Precast, was elected Vice Chairman; Dan Juntunen, Wells Concrete, was elected Secretary-Treasurer. Gary Pooley, Wells Concrete, was appointed Zone 3 Producer Member Director to complete the unexpired term of Dan Juntunen.
Furthermore the following individuals were all elected as new members to the 2015 PCI Board of Directors: Kimberly Wacker, Spancrete; Keith Wallis, Prestressed Casting Co.; Dr. Ned Cleland, Blue Ridge Design, Inc.; Jeff Moehle, MPC Enterprises, Inc.; Greg Kerkstra, Kerkstra Precast, Inc.; Greg Gibbons, Gibbons Erectors Inc.; and Michael Paris, Ross Bryan Associates, Inc.
PCI develops, maintains, and disseminates the body of knowledge for designing, fabricating, and constructing precast concrete structures. PCI provides technical resources, certification for companies and individuals, continuing education, and much more. PCI members include precast concrete manufacturers, companies that provide products and services to the industry, precast concrete erectors, and individual members such as architects, consultants, contractors, developers, educators, engineers, materials suppliers, service providers and students.
