Registration is now open for the Fall ACI Concrete Convention in Dallas, Texas, USA. Engineers, contractors, researchers, manufacturers, and material representatives will convene on October 23-27, 2022, to collaborate on concrete codes, specifications, and practices. Technical and educational sessions will provide attendees with the latest research, case studies, best practices, and the opportunity to earn Professional Development Hours (PDHs). Select programming will also be available on-demand to attendees who choose to attend virtually.
The ACI Concrete Convention is an opportunity to showcase companies, projects, current events, research, and offers numerous networking events where you can expect to meet with many of the concrete industry’s professionals. Attendees may also visit the exhibit hall to learn more about the many products and services offered by exhibitors.
Over 200 industry-leading speakers will present live at the convention, providing substantial opportunity for attendees to advance their concrete knowledge. Sessions will be available to those that registered for the in-person event in Dallas or those that register for the On-Demand Technical Sessions. All technical sessions will be available on-demand through the convention platform and will be available for viewing after premiering live at the convention.
ACI Concrete Convention highlights include:
International Workshop on Structural Concrete: The primary purpose of this workshop is to gather and share information on the development and application of concrete design standards throughout the Americas and beyond. Following the workshop, attendees are invited to network with colleagues at an evening reception.
International Lunch: Speaker Santiago Pujol presents, “Sozen’s Zen: Interactions with Japanese Researchers.” This presentation reviews the works and the original ideas of Naito to propose that international collaboration can speed up the urgent transformations required in our profession.
Opening Session and Keynote Presentation
The Opening Session is the official start to the ACI Concrete Convention and will begin with a welcome address by ACI President Charles K. Nmai. The Opening Session will conclude with a keynote presentation, “Lead with Passion” by Art delaCruz.
ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards Gala
The ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards will showcase and honor some of the most creative concrete projects from around the world nominated by ACI Chapters, ACI International Partners, and new for this year, project team members. Project nominations were judged by industry professionals with technical expertise in each of the seven award categories.
Concrete Mixer: Join ACI attendees and guests for an evening of networking, entertainment, and great food during the Concrete Mixer, held at the famous honky-tonk Gilley’s Dallas. The mixer will be a western style event, jeans, boots, and hats are welcomed.
NEx Workshop on FRP bars: The NEx Workshop on FRP bars will be held in conjunction with the ACI Concrete Convention. The primary purpose of this workshop is to gather and share information on the development of ACI 440-22 and the application of GFRP rebar in the construction industry.
President’s Reception: ACI President Charles K. Nmai invites all convention attendees to the President’s Reception, where you’ll have the opportunity to network with committee Chairs, chapter Presidents, and international attendees. An assortment of food and beverages will be available.
Throughout the convention, ACI will hold over 300 committee meetings, 50+ technical sessions, an industry trade exhibition, networking events, and more.
