This just in from the folks at Surface 519:
“Available for all your training needs is the new Surface 519 National Training Center! Open to the decorative concrete industry, our facility, centrally located in Des Moines, Iowa, is available to all manufactures, distributors or artisians for training purposes with their customer audience.
A 28,000-square-foot shop, with 18,000 square foot of space designated as a countertop shop, this training center is fully equipped to manufacture countertops, sinks, fireplaces or whatever else your audience demands.”
Surface 519 will themselves be hosting the 2011 Sealer Summit at their new center April 27-29. Surface 519’s Bob Chatterton and Troy Thompson will instruct, along with Jon Schuler of BlueConcrete.
Again, according to the Surface 519 news release: The purpose of the event is "to bring fabricators together in our new 519 National Training Center and provide a hands-on experience with a variety of sealers. We will examine the top sealers in the industry step-by-step while allowing attendees to experience the application process themselves. Students are invited to bring their own project(s) as well. The purpose of this summit is not to promote a particular sealer but rather to provide students with a clearer understanding of how each sealer performs so that they may feel better informed to make an educated decision as to which sealer is the best choice for their project(s)."
