Sika announces new tape,certified sealants

Sika Corp. has introduced SikaSil Tape, a preformed elastomeric silicone profile for sealing expansion joints. The tape’s silicone technology gives it strong resistance to weather and UV rays. It is sold in 100-foot rolls, in widths from 1 inch to 12 inches, and in six standard colors. The manufacturer also does color matching. Also, three of Sika’s polyurethane construction sealants, Sikaflex 1a, Sikaflex 15lm and Sikaflex Textured Sealant, have been certified by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association under AAMA 808.9-92, “Voluntary Specifications and Test Methods for Sealants: Exterior Perimeter Sealing Compound.” The sealants are elastomeric, offer good adhesion and are available in a range of colors.
