This statement came upon the release of the House Democrat Staff Report Solving the Climate Crisis: Congressional Action Plan for a Clean Energy Economy and a Healthy, Resilient and Just America.
“The Portland Cement Association applauds the engaging stakeholder process put forth by the Select Committee on both sides of the aisle to approach the global challenges of climate change,” said Ireland.
“PCA members support market-based policies and initiatives. These enable the industry’s continued reduction of its carbon footprint in a responsible and sustainable manner. The Committee’s report marks a good start toward developing policies consistent with these principles. We look forward to building on our engagement with Congress on implementable solutions that address the changes in our climate.”
