The hottest topic was the presentation on standards for polished concrete. To our surprise evidence was indicating tgat properly polished concrete is one of the safest flooring choices available to the consumer.

The sixth annual Decorative Concrete Awards were announced recently by sponsor L. M. Scofield Co. The contest honors contractors and designers who use Scofield decorative concrete materials.

This year, for the first time, the contest was divided into six categories.

How Can You Minimize Sealer Slipperiness on Concrete?

Using grit additives has become the most common method for reducing slipperiness when sealing decorative concrete flatwork on exterior walking surfaces. The grit additives are mixed into the sealer, then the gritty sealer is applied to the concrete. However, in this situation the weather was too cold to reseal the concrete.
