Purdue researchers show concrete infused with wood nanocrystals is stronger, plan to use it in California bridge

Purdue University researchers are ready to test whether they can make a stronger bridge by using concrete infused with microscopic nanocrystals from wood. The researchers have been working with cellulose nanocrystals, byproducts generated by the paper, bioenergy, agriculture and pulp industries.

The Decorative Concrete Council, a specialty council of the American Society of Concrete Contractors, St. Louis, Missouri, has announced the winners of its eighth annual Decorative Concrete Awards competition. The winners were recognized at a ceremony at the World of Concrete, Las Vegas, on Feb. 2, 2016.
