L. M. Scofield is pleased to announce the winners of its Fifth Annual Decorative Concrete Awards contest. The contest is open to any contractor, architect or designer who uses or specifies Scofield Systems. Projects are judged on skill of installation, creativity, artistic expression, and integration with the overall design intent.
For the second year in a row, Scofield received a record number of entries. Fifty projects were reviewed and narrowed down to nine finalists by a panel of six judges. The nine finalists were submitted to the Grand Prize judge, who this year was Jim Peterson, publisher of ConcreteNetwork.com.
The Grand Prize award, an engraved cut-crystal trophy, was awarded to Paul M. Wolff Co., of Lindon, Utah. Their winning entry (above) — a 19,400 square-foot dining facility with open-style kitchen and specialty eatery areas at William Jessup University in Rocklin, Calif. — features a uniquely designed dining facility highlighted by an exhibition kitchen where diners receive an interactive experience with the open-style seating as they watch their food being prepared. The area includes a gas-fired pizza over, bakery, coffee and espresso bar, and private dining rooms.
