The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program – a business intensive program that awards students with a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Concrete Industry Management – is seeking donations for their 2019 CIM Auction to be held at World of Concrete. The auction is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The silent auction will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the live auction begins at 1 p.m.

A study released by Urvashi Kaul, Consultant and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University, seeks to address the issue of wood-framed residential fires, particularly multi-family wood-framed structures. The study, which examines two recent California apartment fires, focuses primarily on the economic impact wood-framed building fires have on communities and local governments.

The Portland Cement Association (PCA) commended the U.S. House of Representatives for passing a five-year reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which includes provisions supported by the cement industry.
