As part of the Aagen Group’s renovation of its facilities in Houston, the Business Flooring Specialists refurbished the company’s shipping and receiving ramp. The ramp was showing wear and tear and also needed its traction improved — especially when it was wet.
Many superstitions remain unexplained.
But when it comes to the banging and clanging during the night, it appears a ghost dubbed Harry at the Pyrmont Fire Station has become legendary.
Until now.
Decorative concrete doesn’t come on a bigger scale than this. Developer Geoff Palmer has built more apartments in downtown Los Angeles than anyone else — more than 3,000 — all in the same faux-Italian style.
A crew of trainers and the people who signed up to take their workshops transformed much of the Presbyterian Night Shelter in Fort Worth, Texas.

The competition is open to contractors, architects or designers who use or specify Scofield systems. Projects are judged on skill of installation, creativity, artistic expression and how the project integrates with the overall design.
The notion that decorative concrete can change lives might seem like a bold idea, but it has never been so apparent than at the Charlotte Rescue Mission, the recipient of this year’s community makeover courtesy of the Concrete Decor Show.
Last fall, Architectural Concrete and Design Inc. was tasked with retrofitting the concourse of nearby Valley Fair Mall with a stampable overlay system. The specifications dictated that the selected concrete system was to be installed over existing ceramic tile without any demolition.
Decorative concrete makeovers make ideal pro bono projects. A recent press release from Concrete Coatings Inc. describes a perfect example, in which contractors donated time, labor and materials to improve a northern Utah retreat camp for kids facing challenging circumstances.
